Update: Minda Gallarin, Thailand - January- March 2012

Dear Pastor and Mission Partners, Greetings in the most precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our sovereign God demonstrated his faithfulness in pouring His blessings early this year.  Churches and some generous individuals gave Saimai Baptist Church financial assistance to completely recover form the flood.  From our blessings, we were able to give electric fans and a table to some members and to a family of one of our English SS boys. Also, I had a chance to attend Teachers’ Training Seminar with Dr. Mary Herman as the speaker at Bangjak Baptist Church.  I was once again reminded of how the Lord Jesus Christ regarded the children and used their attitude towards the kingdom of God as an example.  Mark 10:14-15.  The seminar was indeed refreshing! In the first week of February, Pastor Mark Carter and his faithful men from Capitol City Baptist Church, Des Moise, Iowa came over and conducted a seminar on how to reach out to communities.  Pastor Noom, his wife, A, Pee Nun a

Update: Enrile Badua (Thailand) - January -March 2012

2012 brings in us a new year of service, hope and opportune chance of getting the message of Christ to the lost. It is our outmost desire to make the most of every opportunity the Lord gives, knowing how little time, and the harvest will be over. We long to see both spiritual and numerical growth in our church people; a growing relationship with the Lord as well as a growing passion for the lost. This second Sunday of January, was a transfer of our worship meeting place. Moving to a bigger place became necessary as the house church turned small for everyone of us to worship. With this transfer, our Sunday service is now held in an area capable of accommodating the Sunday crowd. Midweek service is still being conducted at the former location while home prayer meetings are encourage for distant members. We thank the Lord for the provision enabling to rent this place on an every Sunday basis. Your ardent prayer will surely help us live up to the challenge of bringing more people in. Li

Dear Praying Pastors and Mission Partners, We greet you in the name of the Lord. Update: Minda Gallarin (Thailand) - December 2011

Dear Pastor and Mission Partners, "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." I Thess. 5:18. I've so many stories to tell in a limited space. The flood had totally receded in Bangkok for a week now after almost two months of being submerged. I do grieve with the families who totally lost their houses and the lives that were gone during the flood. But as God's encouragement in His Word, "Rejoice evermore." I rather thank God for the flood for the following reasons; 1. Bangkok Baptist Church as my shelter in the time of storm until the roads going home has become passable. I'm back now to where I belong, Saimai Baptist Church. 2. Most of our members just experience little damage except for one, Pee Wee, whose house was totally sunk and needs a major repair. 3. We are 95 percent finished cleaning up the debris and rubbish, brushing the walls and floors of the church. The body pain as bonus. 4. There will be a newly painted Saimai Baptist Chu

Update: Jasoh Goh (Thailand) - December 2011

CAMPS, CAMPS AND … MORE CAMPS! October was school holidays here in Thailand. It presented an excellent opportunity for us to plan camps that are educational, fun-filled but, more importantly, evangelistic. A total of 4 camps were organized, namely, teenage girls camp (Thai), teenage boys camp (Thai), Bible camp (Burmese) and children English day camp. During the 4-day girls camp, our teenage girls learnt about the importance of unity and being a light to the world. They also had a chance to perform some community services at a senior citizen’s home. The boys, on the other hand, were treated to some adventure in a 3-day outdoor camp. They had a chance to eat stuff caught in the wild and bonded really well through a host of activities. Our Burmese kids were immersed in some intensive Bible studies in a 5-day camp. We ended the month with over 80 Thai and Burmese kids who jointly participated in a 3-day English day camp. Through it all, we saw 03 professions of faith in the youth

Update: Minda Gallarin (Thailand) - September 2011

Dear Pastor and Mission Partners, Rainy season has been a blessing. With it teaching and learning in an open area in the community park is simply unlikeable. We asked the permission of the parents if we could bring the kids to church, most of them allowed their children to go. For an unknown reason a mother wouldn’t allow her girl to join, but praise God a grandmother from the same community has been regularly attending with the kids. What a replacement! Thai Bible story is presented every Sunday with English Bible vocabularies and short choruses where the kids learn two languages, English and Thai. After an hour of English Sunday School, the kids are joining the adults for the Sunday service. Praise God they can join the congregational singing and are guided how to open the Bible and read the passages. My health is a little to be desired. My feet were badly hurting lately. I felt that God is reminding me to double my effort with my usual activity, prayer walking and tracts distri

Update: Abcede Garcia (Indonesia) - September 2011

Dear Partners in the Ministry, What an encouragement to hear our Sunday school children in giving their Prayer Request. A seven year old girl a daughter of one of our pioneering family said: “Please pray for my uncle that God will open his heart for the Lord!”, Another Sunday school girl says, “ Please pray for my parents that they will join us coming to church”! Hearing those testimonies, it really touches our hearts. Our Sunday school children are so precious that we believed they are the next generations that would eventually continue to carry on the torch. Investing in the lives of these children are blessings. We already divided our children’s Sunday school into three classes. One class is using the carport, another is using the built in stock room and the other is using the main Sunday school room. How we wish we could buy the place we are using so we can renovate and make rooms for our Sunday school. This area right now, like the house that we are using, the price for

Update: Enrile Badua (Thailand) - September 2011

Send you greetings from Bangkok Baptist Church! God is always good! He's done great works worthy of sharing with you all. Here are a few of them that has given us joy in serving Him. It was quite a while since our last baptism but praise the Lord for Melcha, Vangie and Daisy who followed the Lord in water baptism this month. Melcha is one of the school staff daughter who grew up in Sunday school where she received the Lord to be her personal Saviour. Vangie got saved in a regular home Bible study at Sukhumvit, and has faithfully attended the church for several weeks. Having realise the importance of being a part of a local church, she decided to follow the Lord's command to get baptised. Daisy's work keep her away from the church for almost a year. She finally got a job here in Bangkok, has return to church and submitted herself for baptism. To see them step in obedience encouraged the whole church. It bless our hearts to see the outcome of the tireless Bible studies conducted at memb

Updates: Jon Coronel (Ethiopia) - July 2011

Dear Pastors & Friends, What a comfort to behold on your partnership and your prayers with us, in the midst of our enjoyable struggles here in the remote place of Shashemene Ethiopia. Water and Electricity is scarce in our place, the rainy season came late this year the people are in much struggle because of the effect of drought all commodities increases, sugar and cooking oil was limited we can only buy 2 kilos sugar and 2 liters oil per family here in our place. Because of the current situation we were again ransacked by burglars destroying the wall of our rented house while I was invited to preach in the city with my family. Thieves got all our things including the power tools, welding machine, Grinders, drills, planer and many others.., things dear to my wife were gone. My wife was reminded again of her trauma before and she’s very scared already in this place, I just tend to comfort her and encourage her to trust in the Lord at all times…, We have decided to wean the three works...

Update: Minda Gallarin (Thailand) - April - June 2011

Click here to download: Saimai new community park.docx (263 KB) (download) Click here to download: Saimai new community park.docx (263 KB) Dear Pastor and Mission Partners, “When God closes the door, He’ll open the windows.” Saimai Baptist Church moved to a new building in April. God use a faithful Christian to let us rent one of her townhouses. It is not as big as the old building, but it is nicer and a lot cheaper! It is no longer located along the road where it can easily be found and visited, but it is now in the quiet and guarded place in one of the villages in Saimai area where new prospects are beginning to know us. We didn’t have English Sunday School during our first month in this new location. The kids couldn’t come by themselves anymore. Praise God it turned into an opportunity for us to start an extension classes at the community park on Saturdays. This brought ne
